Sir Simon Rattle leads the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in two distinct programs featuring works by Mahler, Beethoven, Wagner, Hindemith, Zemlinsky, and Thomas Adès
Munich’s Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra is one of Germany’s most cherished ensembles, with a great reputation further bolstered by its extensive worldwide touring. Currently under the esteemed leadership of Sir Simon Rattle, the orchestra performs orchestral masterpieces with passion, nuance, and insight. May 2 features Hindemith’s Ragtime (Well-Tempered), Zemlinsky’s Symphonische Gesänge, Op. 20 with Baritone Lester Lynch, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 6. May 3 features Wagner’s Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde, Thomas Adès AquiferI, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral.”
