In coordination with the special exhibition, “Klimt Landscapes,” Neue Galerie is delighted to host a lecture series with a focus on different aspects of the Austrian artist's career.
“Dilettantes and Professionals - Photography in Gustav Klimt’s Circle”
Monika Faber, Director Photoinstitut Bonartes, Vienna
Gustav Klimt's circle of friends included numerous photographers, both amateurs and professionals, as well as those who were recognized as artists working in this relatively new medium. Dr. Monika Faber will discuss the links between photography and the fine arts at the turn of the twentieth century, and the relationship between Klimt and the so-called “dilettantes” of the Vienna Camera Club.
