Consul General David Gill discusses German foreign policy at the Otto and Fran Walter Memorial Lecture at the Graduate Center, CUNY, in conversation with John Torpey, director of the EU Studies Center.
The annual Otto and Fran Walter Memorial Lecture returns with David Gill, Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany. As the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its second year, Consul General Gill will share an in-depth perspective on German and European responses to the war, German popular opinion, and the implications of Chancellor Scholz’s pivotal “Zeitenwende”. How has the German posture toward military conflict changed, and how long will German, American, and European support for Ukraine continue? Consul General Gill discusses these important questions with Presidential Professor John Torpey, director of the European Union Studies Center and Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies, the Graduate Center, City University of New York.
