How did Covid-19 transform education and accelerate digitalization in the classroom?
When schools closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, the pedagogical changes were drastic: within a few days, classrooms rapidly turned into online learning spaces and many teachers and students were not ready for this transformation.
In some cases, teachers used digital technology to teach for the first time. Education moved from schools to homes, necessitating increased parent involvement in the education of their Children.
Yet parent involvement in student’s remote education varied due to social and economic disparities and each family’s individual situation. Likewise, unequal access to technology further widened learning and achievement gaps between students.
Join the panel of experts on Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 12 PM (EST) for the third event in the event series Contested Public Education, Pedagogical Conceptions and Sustainable Innovations to hear about:
- Pedagogical shifts caused by school closures
- Rising inequalities among students due to remote teaching and how to solve them
- New teaching and learning concepts developed during the pandemic
- The event is free and open to all, but registration is required.
