One of the most inspiring European Jazz Orchestra is back in town: The Hamburg Radio Jazz Orchestra and the great in New York based clarinet player Kinan Azmeh will present music between jazz and traditional Syrian music.
To kick off the US tour, the NDR Bigband will present its recently released CD programme “Flow” with Syrian clarinet player Kinan Azmeh. Azmeh, born in Damaskus/ Syria, has been living in NY since he studied at Julliard School of Music. Band and soloist have a long musical friendship, and after many concerts in Germany they are now travelling to the soloist's adopted country.
NDR Bigband is one of the oldest and famous jazz ensembles in Germany. The 17 musicians of this ensemble play among 60 concerts every year with famous artists like Randy Brecker, Wayne Shorter, Chet Baker, Maria Schneider and many others.
