Five-time Emmy winning composer Jeff Beal makes his debut in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage leading the Silver Nitrate Big Band and Fourth Wall Ensemble in the live-to-picture U.S. premiere of his score for the Weimar Cinema masterpiece The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Five-time Emmy winning composer Jeff Beal makes his debut in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage leading the Silver Nitrate Big Band and Fourth Wall Ensemble in the live-to-picture U.S. premiere of his score for the Weimar Cinema masterpiece The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Considered one of the most influential silent films in history, Caligari’s expressionist design, complex themes, and genre elements combined with Beal’s searing score showcases the singular voice of the musical storyteller. This film is from the holdings of the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung in Wiesbaden. Presented by Silver Nitrate, this performance is part of Carnegie Hall's Fall of the Weimar Republic: Dancing on the Precipice Festival.
